Having lived in Byron for a while in 2003 I jumped at the chance to help them create a fresh new identity and website to match. In order to capture the right atmosphere I went for an 80's surf sticker feel but with clean execution. The website follows suit with bold graphics, chunky typography with the use of the wonderful Gotham font family.http://www.byronbeachresort.com.au

It wasn't an easy branding to create, I had supporting photography on which to base my ideas, but forming a cohesive and workable illustration as the centrepiece of the logo was a challenge and took several revisions. It originally included a hammock but that had to be removed as it wasn't discernible at most sizes. The final logo as it is now works extremely well and informed the rest of the design.
